The top 3
No. 1 Texas saw Arch Manningโs first start in place of injured QB1 Quinn Ewers produce a 51-3 win over Louisiana-Monroe.
The Longhorns earned 1527 poll points, with 44 of the 62 first-place votes. Texas maintained its No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25 โย the first team other than SEC foe Georgia to hold the top AP ranking so far this season.
Georgia, winners of two of the past three CFP National Championships, held steady in the AP No. 2 spot after its bye ahead of a Week 5 SEC matchup at No. 4 Alabama. The Bulldogs earned 1482 poll points, with 13 first-place votes.
Ohio State held steady at No. 3 with 1432 poll points and five first-place votes after beating unranked Marshall 49-14.
ACC takes 3 spots
The ACC took three spots again this week, led by No. 7 Miami up one on a 50-15 win over South Florida.
Also Ranked for the ACC are No. 15 Louisville, and No. 17 Clemson โย both up four spots this week.
B1G takes six spots
B1G teams ranked include No. 3 Ohio State, No. 8 Oregon, No. 9 Penn State, No. 12 Michigan up six spots on a 27-24 win over No. 13 USC, and No. 19 Illinois up five spots after their 31-24 win dropped Nebraska from the Top 25 โย at least six Big Ten teams factoring in the AP rankings each week so far this season.
Oregon climbed on to No. 8 on a bye week ahead of the Ducksโ Week 5 Big Ten opener at UCLA.
Big 12 takes five spots
The Big 12 added its fifth AP-ranked team this week โย No. 10 Utah up two on its 22-19 win to drop No. 20 Oklahoma State six spots, No. 18 Iowa State, previously unranked BYU at No. 22 on its 38-9 home win dropping No. 23 Kansas State 10 spots.
SEC takes nine spots
The SEC maintained nine spots in this weekโs rankings. Beyond No. 1 Texas, the SEC is also represented by No. 2 Georgia, No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Tennessee, No. 6 Ole Miss, No. 11 Missouri, No. 14 LSU, No. 21 Oklahoma, and No. 24 Texas A&M.
